Philadelphia
See
Rodin Museum
Everyone we told we were going to Philadelphia met us with the same expression, “Why?” So naturally I became sceptical and thought that there wouldn’t be much for us to go and see but man was I wrong.
There is so much to see whilst you are here like
1. Ben Franklin’s grave - feel free to toss a coin for good luck (you can see it from the gate if you don’t want to pay or are not a fan of graveyards)
2. Liberty Bell - it’s free to see it, but there can be queues during busy times and if you just want to see it - then you can do it from the window
3. Rocky’s Statue - ok I’ll be honest, I didn’t know Philly was film famous because of the movie Rocky. His Statue (played by Sylvester Stallone) used to be at the top of the steps but has since been moved to the side
4. Sculpture Garden - I’d like to think of it as a perfect place to chill before the museum opens. Well worth a visit if you enjoy art.
5. Rodin Museum - the largest collection of sculpture by Rodin outside of Paris. The doors depict Dante’s Divine Comedy as they are called “The Gates of Hell” well worth a visit.

Do
Go on a tour bus. I loved the tour that we did because we had an energetic host who did not just tell you about the things within Philadelphia but also beyond. They are also very personable.
See the views from One Liberty Observation Deck - the only downside is you can’t step outside
Run Rocky’s Steps - or walk them like I did. They are right by the front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art
Hang around Penn’s Landing. There’s always something interesting that’s happening in this area. Well worth a visit
Walk around old town and visit Independence Hall, Elfreth’s Alley

There are so many amazing places to eat in Philly and so much cuisine to choose from, you aren’t limited to just the famous Philly Cheesesteak. There are some great restaurants by Rittenhouse Square and often there is a food market there . Another great place for a food market is Reading Terminal Market. I highly recommend going there on an empty stomach.
My favourites were:
Stir , located in the Philadelphia Museum of Art - all ingredients are sources locally and their brunch is yummy
Khyber Pass Pub - great place for some craft beer as well if you or travel companion, love beer.
Sabroso+Sorbo - located in the Notary Hotel (which I highly recommend you stay when you are in Philadelphia) had an incredible Spanish inspired breakfast. Definitely worth waking up.
For coffee, if you find any placing selling La Colombe beans, be prepared for the coffee of your life.
