I know, I know I am at least 2 years late to all of this but man, Dominique Ansel is a culinary genius. My first experience of the cronut was at my work summer party and to be honest I really didn’t enjoy it at all. Maybe it was because at that time I was stuffed full of other food that we had been eating at that time. So when I was looking for a new place to catch up with my friend, I came across Dominique Ansel's Bakery and we decided to go and check it out.

Firstly, the location is great. It's right next to Victoria Coach Station in London, so if you've just missed your coach and have an hour to kill, I definitely would recommend going there. After almost 2 years of opening, it's still a popular place so you still have to go early to be able to get yourself a cronut or a seat on the terrace.
I discovered that they have one flavour of the cronut per month so you have an excuse to go there every month just so you can experience the new flavour. As I went in March, the flavour of the month was Passionfruit toasted Coconut and I couldn't wait to have it. Of course, they have other things on the menu, but this is what the owner is famous for, I guess I wanted to taste it for myself. And I'll tell you, it didn't disappoint.

As I cut into it, I was already anticipating this being the best pastry I have ever had and I was right. In between (and I'm sorry I enjoyed the pastry so much I didn't take more pictures ) the cronut, there's cream but it's not like when you buy those cream doughnuts that are just filled to the brim with cream, that doesn't taste of anything, the cream in these beauties were filled with so much flavour I practically had a foodgasm. It was that good. And when I went to get some more, they had run out. That's over 350 cronuts that had been made and sold. Mindblown.

Overall, my experience at Dominique Ansel's Bakery was the best experience I have had at a bakery in London so far. So if you are looking for a place with extraordinary pastries, head over to Dominque Ansel Bakery and you won't be disappointed.
